2016 WSSFC

About the Conference

Just because you're a solo or small firm practitioner doesn't mean you have to go it alone....

Being a sole practitioner or in a smaller firm doesn't mean you don't have the same needs or wants as those who practice in larger firms. In fact, the opposite is often true. You end up needing more knowledge across a broader spectrum of topics. You often don't practice in an individual area or practice group, you practice across multiple areas of law. And, you have the added responsibility of MANAGING your practice. The Wisconsin Solo & Small Firm Conference was designed with your unique needs in mind. The conference is packed with opportunities including 32 breakout sessions in 4 tracks, 5 plenary sessions, and the Bring Your Own Device Clinic.

Short on Funds but Still Want to Attend? Apply for a Scholarship by Sept. 4.

Solo practice and small-firm attorneys are eligible to apply for a scholarship to the conference. Preference for the scholarships will be given to solo practitioners and small-firm attorneys who would otherwise be unable to attend the conference due to financial constraints. Scholarship winners are responsible for their own travel and lodging costs, but the section will pay their conference tuition.

In order to continue to fulfill the mission of the State Bar’s Solo & Small Firm/General Practice Section, scholarship recipients are expected to “pay it forward” through future volunteer service to the section by assisting with conference planning and/or serving on either the section board or a board subcommittee.

Interested attorneys should complete the application by Sept. 4, and submit it to grant committee chairperson Kathleen Brost. Applications can be sent via email to kbrost@lptrust.com; by mail to: Legacy Private Trust Co., Attn: Kathleen Brost, Two Neenah Center, Fifth Floor, Neenah, WI 54956; or by FAX to: (920) 967-5079

Recipients will be notified by Sept. 19 so that they have enough time to plan to attend the conference.
